As a Partner at Ergo Ventures & Advisers, Tim plays a key role in guiding strategic investments and business operations. He also serves on the board of directors for American Public Education, Inc. (NASDAQ: APEI), a top provider of online post-secondary education focused on military, healthcare, and public service communities. Tim leads Ergo Advisers’ investments in AutoMarketingTeam.com, LESA Automotive, and SmartReal.com, companies that specialize in vertical SaaS solutions. These businesses integrate hardware, software, logistics, and services to deliver cutting-edge digital video, photography, and 3D imaging solutions for auto dealers and real estate professionals.
With 35 years of experience in the automotive and online media industries, Jeff Urgo is a proven entrepreneur and leader in digital transformation. As CEO of Auto Marketing Team and Managing Partner at Ergo Ventures & Advisers, he specializes in building scalable SaaS platforms for the automotive and real estate sectors. From 2018 to 2022, Jeff led the transformation of Gannett/LocaliQ Automotive, turning it from a traditional print business into a $30M+ digital media powerhouse. His expertise includes developing new revenue models, building high-performing sales teams, and driving substantial media growth. Earlier in his career, Jeff played a key role in the Cars.com sales team development for Tribune Company and launched a successful auto photo publication with the Chicago Tribune in 1993. He started in the industry at a Ford dealership, working his way up to General Manager, giving him a deep understanding of the business from the ground up.
Kim Winkler brings nearly 40 years of management experience, including 29 in the automotive industry. She launched her automotive career with the Tribune Company in 1996, working with brands like AutoFinder, Cars Magazine, and Cars.com. In 2008, she co-founded Dealer Inventory Solutions, guiding it to a successful acquisition by Gannett in 2018 and staying through 2021 to support the transition. Today, Kim is a partner and equity investor at Auto Marketing Team, known for her hands-on, cross-functional leadership. As VP of Administrative Services and Regional Director for Illinois, she leads hiring, training, sales, billing, and operations with a strategic, results-driven approach.
Tony Giampietro, a resident of Collegeville PA, leads the company’s Mid-Atlantic operations, with responsibility for business development. He also oversees the company’s ongoing expansion efforts into emerging markets. Before joining The Auto Marketing Team this year, he served as Senior Regional Director with LOCALiQ Auto. Tony started his marketing career in 1996 after working in the retail side of auto for 5 years. His love for both marketing as well as the auto industry has led him to this opportunity. Having a strong knowledge of how to properly apply marketing principles to deliver maximum ROI has made him, and more important his clients, so successful. His claim to fame is having a knack to generate better results at a lower cost per acquisition for his advertisers. When not producing stellar results for his clients, Tony enjoys spending time with his family, cooking, golfing, and hanging by the pool on a warm summer day.
Randall brings with him over 20 years of experience in Software Engineering and Digital Strategy. He earned his Bachelor of Science in Computer Science and Mathematics from the University of South Carolina before earning his Masters in Information Systems from Nova University. He began his career as a software developer and since then has served and managed in almost every position on various software development and digital marketing teams. Randall has focused his career on enhancing his skills at Digital Strategy and Marketing. For the last 7 years he has served as the VP of Digital Strategy for Morris Communications, GateHouse Media, and most recently Gannett. Randall is excited to join the Auto Marketing Team with a wealth of knowledge that he has learned over the last 5 years working directly with large Automotive Marketing clients.
Maggie Smith is an accomplished Director of Operations with a proven track record of driving operational excellence and fostering organizational growth. Bringing years of experience from industries outside of automotive, Maggie specializes in streamlining processes, optimizing resources, and implementing innovative strategies that deliver measurable results. Known for their leadership, adaptability, and focus on team collaboration, Maggie excels at navigating complex challenges and achieving business objectives in fast-paced environments. Charlotte Kirkpatrick is President of VVM Sales and Operations at Auto Marketing Team, leading the company’s digital marketing and video lot service division. She oversees a national team focused on helping dealerships drive revenue through compelling photo and video merchandising. Charlotte began her career in 2014 with The Tuscaloosa News, quickly rising to become the first in her region to exceed $1 million in annual print ad sales. In 2016, she launched Gatehouse Auto, generating $14 million annually as National Director of Sales. After the Gatehouse-Gannett merger, she served as Director of Sales and Training, developing teams and client-focused strategies. In 2022, she joined Auto Marketing Team to focus on building people and teams. She believes that investing in employees leads to exceptional client success.
Joseph Kirkpatrick is the Director of VVM Operations at Auto Marketing Team, overseeing national execution of the company’s Vehicle Video Marketing services. Based in Alabama, he manages day-to-day operations and leads photography teams in delivering high-quality content that helps dealerships boost visibility and sales. Starting as a photographer in 2020, Joseph quickly advanced to Regional Manager and joined Auto Marketing Team in 2023. He brings a strong vision for growth and a passion for team development, working closely with leadership to build a supportive, high-performance culture. Joseph remains hands-on as lead photographer for one of Alabama’s busiest dealerships, combining strategic oversight with on-the-ground expertise to drive consistent client results.
Charlotte Chaffin serves as the Photo and Video Operations Manager for Ohio at Auto Marketing Team. Since joining the company over two years ago, she has played a key role in launching new dealership accounts and has steadily grown into a leadership position while continuing to excel in her photography work. Her time at AMT has not only deepened her knowledge of the automotive industry but also challenged her to grow both professionally and personally, a journey she’s deeply grateful for. Outside of work, Charlotte enjoys spending time with her three dogs, gardening, hiking, and getting lost in a good book.
